Humble beginnings

The web site design side of our business was started 8 years ago and has grown exponentially ever since. The first web site we ever built was for The Department of Trade and Industry, as an extra feature for an Exhibition Stand that we were already building for them. It was an ambitious project, that involved reformatting of an existing database into something more useable, using Microsoft Access. We then had to create a web site that would query this database for supplier details. To further compound matters we also have had to make this function from a CD as Kiosk software. Nowadays this would have been a doddle, but in 1998 this was technical stuff!

Milton Keynes

A few years ago we took the strategic decision of moving our company from Aylesbury to Milton Keynes. This was purely for business reasons - the catchment area for Milton Keynes is far larger and there are far more businesses in the area. We felt that we could offer services, particularly web site services to Milton Keynes companies that they were not getting from our rivals.

Expansion

From those humble beginnings, the web site design arm of the business has flourished, particularly in the last two years. We believe this is because the 'post Internet bubble bursting era' has meant that many companies had a web site built for them a few years ago and they now realise that it is either not good enough, very dated or outside of the Disability Discrimination Act's requirements.

Web sites are now complicated and integral parts of any company. Quite often they are the main point of customer contact, so they need to reflect your company's abilities. A poor looking web site will reflect badly on your company and might encourage your customers to use your competitors.

Looking forward

The last few years have seen some dramatic changes in the way web sites are built and maintained. Content Management systems, CSS based design and construction and Open Source Technologies have helped to shape and standardise the Internet, making our lives easier and enabling us to offer you better and better products and levels of service.

Some of our recent projects have included cutting edge approaches to customer managed web sites, eCommerce integration for 5,000 products and advanced Search Engine Optimisation on web shops. In fact, most of these have been for Milton Keynes based or local companies.
